SENTINEL BUILDING

WHERE IS IT? In the city centre, four blocks west of Central Station, on the corner of Douglas Street and Waterloo Street

Founded on the site of a former Ministry of Defense Building, the Sentinel stands in the centre of the news International Financial Services District.

The 2005 office building won the architecture firm gm+ad the British Council for Offices Award for Best Commercial Workspace, as well as the commercial project prize at the Scottish Design Awards. The modern, dramatic design gives the impression of a magical box floating in the air. The enchanting effect is aided by the use of LED lights provided by lighting specialists KJ Tai, which make the building glow in a variety of colours at night.
